Reinvent Your Home with the Power of Pink

With PANTONE announcing their colour of the year back in December, 16-1546 Living Coral has certainly got us excited here at ZEN HQ. Named after the sea animal, coral is a shade of orange and an undisputed beauty on the colour chart – perfect for oozing warmth in the winter and freshness in the summer. As well as looking fabulous on the sea bed, corals and warm pinks also work beautifully in the home, and should be a definite contender if you’re considering a home project. If you’re loving the idea of diving into a pink, paint sea, we’re with you! Don’t know where to start? Fear not, ZEN has your back.

Classic vibes As a feature wall, coral is a bold choice, but is definitely a risk worth taking – it’ll capture the light in the room beautifully, whilst creating a welcoming vibe. Go classic chic and pair with white, upcycled furniture and fresh flowers for a minimal but beautiful home that just begs for cheese and wine luncheons!

Summer Lovin’ Fancy bringing the outside in? Warm pinks are just the ticket. Pair coral furniture within a yellow décor and you’re on to a winner – both colours will complement each other brilliantly and create a playful, fun feel. Fancy throwing a curveball into the mix, add a monochrome pattern – think chevron, or an animal print. Trust us, it’ll work.

Did you know? The first documented use of coral as a colour reference was all the way back in 1513.

A Regal Affair If you’re a fan of a more dramatic colour scheme, you’re in luck – coral is a perfect accompaniment to richer colours, such as royal blues and racing greens. Pair with velvet and exposed metal furniture (gold drinks trolley, anyone?) and people will be racing over for an espresso martini.
